-- Les collections en ligne de la LIBRARY OF CONGRESS: une quantité impressionnante de sources primaires, de documents originaux sous des formats très variés (textes, sons, images, films) dans des domaines très variés (des papiers de Jefferson, à la publicité, à la musique et j'en passe...) A visiter absolument!

-- American and British History Resources on the Internet

-- La Schoenbaum Library: dans le même esprit que le présent site, celui-ci propose des points de départs, par sujets d'études. La page est moche, disons-le, mais vous pourrez peut-être trouver des choses intéressantes sur ces pages.

  -- Liste de sites de sources primaires américaines + sites d'explications sur l'utilisation des sources primaires en histoire (Univ. W. Mich): très complet

-- L'AFEA (Association Française d'Etudes Américaines) propose un site dont la page liens (notamment celle sur l'art, un sujet peu couvert d'habitude) est intéressante, de même que sa page sur les moteurs de recherches. Probablement le plus gros site de civilisation américaine en France, en tout cas, à ma connaissance!

-- US Census Bureau: Site du Bureau fédéral du recensement : toutes les données sur la population des Etats-Unis

-- The AVALON PROJECT (Yale Law School): Bien au delà des États-Unis, de Charlemagne au vingtième siècle. Excellent!

-- The AMERICAN COLONIST'S LIBRARY: Excellent site, énorme liste de liens extrêmement variés. Remarquable!

--   Documents from the CONTINENTAL CONGRESS and the CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION 1774-1789 (Library of Congress)
Descriptif: "The Continental Congress Broadside Collection (253 titles) and the Constitutional Convention Broadside Collection (21 titles) contain 274 documents relating to the work of Congress and the drafting and ratification of the Constitution. Items include extracts of the journals of Congress, resolutions, proclamations, committee reports, treaties, and early printed versions of the United States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Most Broadsides are one page in length, others range from 1 to 28 pages."

--   The GEORGE WASHINGTON PAPERS at the LIBRARY of CONGRESS, 1741-1799: "The complete George Washington Papers collection from the Manuscript Division at the Library of Congress consists of approximately 65,000 documents. This is the largest collection of original Washington documents in the world. Document types in the collection as a whole include correspondence, letterbooks, commonplace books, diaries, journals, financial account books, military records, reports, and notes accumulated by Washington from 1741 through 1799."

-- Thomas Paine National Historical Association: Excellent site de ressources, avec de très nombreux textes originaux en version intégrale, avec des intros (scans d'éditions libre de droits), avec des infos sur la place de la version utilisée dans l'historiographie (pour ceux que j'ai vus). Très bien! Plus des biographies du XIXè (donc attention)

-- EarlyAmerica: surtout pour le 18ème et la période révolutionaire.

-- The Hanover Project: site très utile, sinon il ne serait pas ici.

-- The CIRNA Collection at the Institute Charles V (English and American Studies Department), University Paris 7-Denis Diderot, is made up of microfilmed primary sources and printed primary sources on early America (British colonies in North America), the early American Republic and Indian Affairs in the 19th Century. Possibilité de faire des recherches de concordances. Très facile à utiliser, très confortable en ce qui concerne la navigation.

-- AMERICAN MAGAZINES in the 19th c.: pour en savoir plus! Le site www.bartleby.com propose une édition intégrale de la Cambridge History of English and American Literature in 18 Volumes (1907–21), dans laquelle vous pourrez trouver plusieurs chapitres sur les magazines américains du 19è, pour tout savoir sur les magazines eux-mêmes, leurs publics, leurs orientations politiques etc.

A CENTURY of LAWMAKING 1774-1873 (Library of Congress): Un site énorme qui met à disposition des millions de pages de débats pendant le premier siècle des Etats-Unis; particulièrement intéressant pour les recherches de concordance (search by keyword) au sein de toutes les collections. 

Extrait du descriptif: "Beginning with the Continental Congress in 1774, America's national legislative bodies have kept records of their proceedings. The records of the Continental Congress, the Constitutional Convention, and the United States Congress comprise a rich documentary history of the construction of the nation, the development of the federal government, and its role in the national life.
